AcceptableUse
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do with Talkesy, including the macOS app, the iOS app, and this website (the "Services"). It forms part of, and is incorporated into, the Talkesy Terms of Service.
Talkesy uses AI to turn speech into written text and to clean up, rework, translate, and style that text. This policy applies to every input you provide, every output the Services produce, and everything you do with that output — on Free or paid plans.
If you violate this policy, we may suspend or terminate access as described below and in the Terms.
1. Permitted use
Talkesy is built for dictation in your own personal and professional work. Permitted uses include:
- Dictating email, messages, documents, notes, and other written work into focused apps.
- Dictating code comments, commit messages, documentation, and prompts for other tools.
- Transcribing your own speech, or speech you have the lawful right to process.
- Translating your own dictation between supported languages.
- Using Talkesy as an accessibility aid where typing is difficult or painful.
- Ordinary business use by authorized users within an organization.
You are responsible for having the legal right to submit audio you submit, and for obtaining any consent the law requires before recording or transcribing another person.
2. Prohibited content
You may not use the Services to generate, transcribe, process, store, request, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, or otherwise prohibited, including content that:
- Sexually exploits or abuses a minor, or depicts a minor in a sexualized manner. We have zero tolerance; accounts are terminated and we may report to authorities.
- Is pornographic, sexually explicit, or non-consensual intimate imagery or audio.
- Threatens, incites, or instructs violence, terrorism, or violent extremism.
- Harasses, bullies, stalks, or abuses a person or group.
- Constitutes hate speech or promotes discrimination based on protected characteristics.
- Promotes or instructs suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating.
- Facilitates trafficking of illegal drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, or people.
- Contains malware or instructions for unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Is fraudulent or deceptive (scams, phishing, forged identity, or misleading attribution of speech).
- Doxxes or discloses another person's private information without consent.
- Infringes copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Is otherwise unlawful where you or the affected person is located.
3. Prohibited conduct
Independently of content, you may not:
- Record or transcribe another person where consent is required and you have not obtained it.
- Use Talkesy for unlawful surveillance or unlawful employee monitoring.
- Impersonate another person or organization.
- Present Talkesy output as a genuine recording or endorsement of someone who did not make it.
- Reverse engineer the Services except where that restriction is unenforceable.
- Circumvent word caps, licensing, device limits, or rate limits.
- Resell the Services or share account credentials.
- Use output to develop or train a competing speech or language model.
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Services.
- Engage in payment fraud or illegitimate chargebacks.
- Use the Services in violation of export controls or from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions.
4. Sensitive & regulated data
Talkesy is a general-purpose dictation tool. It is not offered as a HIPAA-certified, PCI-certified, or similarly regulated product, and we do not provide a business associate agreement by default. If you dictate health information, financial account details, government identifiers, privileged legal material, or other regulated data, you are responsible for deciding whether Talkesy is appropriate and for obtaining required consents. Do not submit such data if you are not permitted to.
5. AI features
Output may be inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing it before you rely on it, publish it, or send it. Do not use AI features for discriminatory, harassing, harmful, or deceptive purposes, or for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about a person without meaningful human review where required.
6. Enforcement
Talkesy is designed with privacy in mind. Audio is not synced to your Talkesy account for cloud replay, and history can stay on-device. That means we generally do not see what you dictate. We act on what we can see and on reports we receive.
If we become aware of a possible violation, we may investigate, request information, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, and refuse future service. Serious or unlawful violations may be reported to authorities. Accounts terminated for AUP violations are generally not eligible for refunds except where required by law or our Refund Policy.
7. Reporting
To report a suspected violation, email support@talkesy.com with enough detail for us to investigate. We review reports we receive.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated as described in the Terms. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated AUP.
